PROSECCO CYCLING CLASSIC

The final event for the season is in conjunction with the Prosecco Cycling Classic, being the second most important race in the Province of Treviso, not only for its relevance, large number of participants, but especially for its setting.
September is a month which offers exceptional colours and scents, all on show as our province has much to offer during the autumn season.
Your first two days will be spent in Treviso, to familiarize yourself with your surroundings. Then we leave for the Dolomites, our unforgettable mountain ranges, where you will be accommodated in the gorgeous area of the Pedemontana (feet of the mountains) and by the hillside vineyards of our best wine, Prosecco; in addition, you will stay in the town of Valdobbiadene - the capital of Prosecco, from where the Granfondo departs on Sunday.
During the week, you will have the possibility to taste and appreciate out finest local products. During the autumn months, grape harvest takes place, hence whilst our visits to the more important farms and wineries, you will have the opportunity of seeing how wine is made!
On Sunday 4th October, 2009, the moment you have been waiting for - the 6th Prosecco Cycling Classic. The race takes you along the 'Stade del Prosecco' (the streets of Prosecco along with over 2500 cyclists, who will all challenge themselves along the demanding route, surrounded by breathtaking views!
PROGRAM:
- Monday 28th: arrive in Treviso, having taken airport transfer from either Treviso or Venice; check-in at your hotel, visit the Cicli Pinarello factory, complete bike fittings; short ride in the afternoon in order to adapt to bike.
- Tuesday 29th: 3 hour morning training ride in the Pedemontana (mountainous area north of Treviso); afternoon free and dinner in typical "trevigiano" restaurant;
- Wednesday 30th: transfer to the Dolomites; approx. 4 hour training ride; check-in and dinner at hotel;
- Thursday 1st: training ride amidst the Dolomite passes, approx. 5 hours; afternoon relax and dinner at hotel;
- Friday 2nd: 4 hours ride with transfer to Treviso (Province) and lunch in typical wine cellar; dinner at hotel;
- Saturday 3rd: easy morning training ride; collect race packs; afternoon free and dinner at hotel.
Sunday 4th: the Prosecco Cycling Classic; afternoon free and dinner at typical restaurant;
